The story behind the song

It started with muddy running shoes and a conversation before bed.

“Quarter Past Eight” was inspired by the ordinary moments I share with my son. The little conversations at the end of the day, the questions that come out when the house gets quiet and the things that matter more than we sometimes realize.

At its heart, it’s a simple promise from a father to his son: no matter how old you get or what life throws your way, I’ll always make time to listen.

The man behind the music

I’m Andrew Brinton. A husband, a father and a guy who found a love for songwriting a little later in life.

I started singing at home years before I ever imagined recording my own music. A trip to Newfoundland in 2026 changed something in me. The people, the coastline, the family stories and the slower pace of life left me with things I wanted to put into songs.

I write about family, growing older, the things we carry and the moments we don’t want to forget.

Nothing fancy. Just honest stories and an acoustic guitar.
